BBQ Pit — Built in 1976 as an Architecture senior project, the BBQ Pit was designed and constructed by Thomas Blake, Michael Pratt, and Tom Ryan (ARCH ’76), with assistance from Conservation major Tim McNevin (’75). The project was framed as part of a broader “master plan” for the picnic area—envisioning tables, benches, and other amenities—but ultimately focused on constructing a single durable BBQ structure. Materials were scavenged from around campus, and the grill components were assembled with help from a friend working part-time as a welder.
